Hey Reader !
I believe you have reached this post after browsing through the previous 5 posts in this series.
Before I conclude the Emotions series, I would like to put forth one debatable aspect that crept into my mind, while writing these posts. Also, on contemplating about it, I myself came across the answer.
So, it could be contended that there are times when we do not feel any emotion i.e., when we are ‘numb’. This goes against the statement I wrote in the introduction, “We always find ourselves in a particular state of mind, feeling a specific emotion.” But, on thinking about it for a while, I realized, that being numb or devoid of any emotion is in itself an emotion, which arises because of a given situation. This can be understood by the example that when we are angry, joyful, sorrowful, or scared to the extreme extent, something which cannot be articulated, we generally go quiet and show no emotion, that is when we are numb.
I sincerely hope that you enjoyed reading the posts and could relate with them.
