Preparing for the World of Knowledge

My name is Mr. A. I love studying, especially reading. It helps me to procure knowledge about different disciplines. I am well acquainted with numerous facts & figures, statistics, current affairs etc. In fact, I am confident enough to say that you name any topic and I would know about it. This knowledge I have gathered is in itself a world bubbling inside me. This journey of learning has been so deep, or I should say the learning in this journey has been so deep, that I now find myself completely immersed in it, at such great depths that I can now hardly figure whether the sun is shining in the sky or the moon. You would have noticed the word ‘bubbling’  in the paragraph above.  I didn’t use it in the flow of sharing my experience with you, I literally meant it. The Habit of Thinking

The habit of thinking. I have this habit. And it’s not because that I write, I think a lot, but I usually am thinking of everyday things and experiences. Actually, all of us do have this habit. It’s just the degree of it that divides people into two segments- the thinkers and the care-free. And like almost every habit, it has its own pros and cons, but it cannot rather be pigeonholed as right or wrong, for it is individual. Thoughts are stubborn; even if a string out of the whole mass of entangled thoughts creeps into your head, it follows you everywhere. It lingers and loiters at the back of the mind, no matter whatever you do. Sometimes it’s beneficial, for continuously thinking about something opens up various new aspects and it leads to better conclusions. But sometimes it makes things worse too. For example, suppose a person […]

Online Learning in the Pandemic

Since the historic beginning of the new decade in 2020 with the COVID-19 outbreak, internet has been breaking down barriers and been removing the traditional gatekeepers in many established fields. One of the key domains which have undergone a metamorphosis is education. The students have attempted to adapt themselves to the ‘new normal’ ways of online learning alongside their dedicated teachers who have tremendously worked hard to make online teaching effective and interactive. Technology has come to the forefront in these testing times and being immersed in it throughout the year has honed the technical skills massively. With the number of COVID cases in full swing, online learning platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Classroom etc. have come to the rescue. No doubt, everyone thoroughly misses the physical classroom learning, but in these pandemic times, these online learning platforms have provided the optimal alternatives. It has allowed us to venture into ways of learning we had not envisaged earlier, like learning through slides, playing quizzes with friends and classmates etc. Giving online examinations has been an altogether new experience for the students. Also, there have been other online tutoring platforms which students have largely adopted in this online […]
