Chandni Chowk
16 October. It was my first visit to Chandni Chowk. Getting down at the ‘Lal Quila’ metro station, the scenery that I encountered totally lived up to what I had expected of Chandni Chowk. No doubt that it is one of the busiest markets of ‘Purani’ Delhi. With innumerable shops on both sides of the road, while walking on the pavements thronged with visitors and roads jam-packed with rickshaws and two-wheelers, the whole atmosphere seemed to be enthusiastic and excited. And to talk about the shops in Chandni Chowk. What do you wish to buy? You name it, they have it. From the dry fruits market to the books market, from the electronics market to the market of watches and clocks, the list is endless. And the shopping spree gives way to _______. Any guesses? Of course, food ! The huge variety they have. Talking about myself, I treated myself with the famous ‘chole kulche’, ‘dahi bhalle’, and ‘rabri faluda’ of Chandni Chowk. But reaching the moment where we could finally eat was a struggle in itself. Our first junction, the ‘dahi bhalla’ shop was yet to open.
